The new number one-ranked Kim Clijsters lost 4-6, 3-6 in the fourth set Petra Kvitova in the finals of the tournament in Paris.
Seeded one in the master plan Clijsters, who won the Australian Open last month, secured place in the global peak, reaching the semifinals of the tournament in the French capital.
The finish, however, went badly for her after the first set was twice broken by Czech woman, dominating.
In the second set, Clijsters found a slightly better rate, but easily confused volley of the network to be broken in the seventh game, then Kvitova won the title with a new breakthrough in its favor.
