Former world number one Ana Ivanovic said the injury in the abdomen is the main reason it fails in the first round of the Australian Open.
Finalist in Melbourne in 2008 and Roland Garros champion lost to Russian Ekaterina Makarova 6-3, 4-6, 8-10 in two hours and 47 minutes.
Ivanovic, who was a strain in the abdomen after the tournament Hompan Cup in Perth, said: "I lost because my gym finally, I could not resist her pace That really disappointed me.
"I was really miserable in the last 10 days I could not train 100% because of the strain. Only on Sunday and Monday had more time to train and even to perform service. It failed me today.
