Karatantcheva yield to Henin in Hopman Cup4-01-2011 |
Competing for Kazakhstan Sesil Karatantcheva suffered two losses against former world's № 1 Justine Henin in a match of unofficial world championship for mixed teams Hopman Cup in the Australian city of Perth.
In singles matches Cecil yield to Belgian 4-6, 3-6, and her partner Andrew Golubyov Ruben Bemeblmans lost 4-6, 4-6. The meeting of the couples and Karatantcheva Golubyov took the first set 6-4, but retreated in the second with 2-6 and in the ensuing tiebreaker with 8-10.
Next meeting of the Hopman Cup Sesil Karatantcheva will play on Thursday. Then the Bulgarian will argue with Australian Alicia Molik test, which is currently 129 in the world, with 11 positions in the rankings before the session. Pairs rivals Karatantcheva and Golubyov will be Molik and Lleyton Hewitt.
