Tennis player Tsvetana Pironkova received today by the Mayor of Plovdiv Slavcho Atanasov title "Honorary Citizen of Plovdiv.
Her prize awarded by decision of the Municipal Council in July 2010 for "exceptionally high results in her tennis."
For Pironkova 2010 was extremely successful and it was the semifinals of the most prestigious Wimbledon tournament helmet. In ranked Pironkova is a 35 th place.
Slavcho Atanasov recalled that she got the youngest honorary citizen in the history of Plovdiv, the No. 1 athlete of the city and five of Bulgaria for 2010. "It is the best ambassador of the city in the world and expect to support the candidacy of the city the cultural capital of Europe in 2019," added the mayor.
"Wherever you find Plovdiv remains for me the best city for me is a great honor awarding me this high honor," said tennis player.
Cyril Pironkov, her father and personal trainer, was awarded the Honorary Golden badge and sign of the city.
