Bulgarian Boris Bakalov eliminated in the quarterfinals of the tennis tournament on hard courts in the Mexican city of Chiapas with a prize fund 10 000 dollars. Bakalov lost to qualifier Christopher Racz with 1:65, 6:7 (3). Bulgarians work 2 points for the WTA rankings and 290 dollars. In the doubles competition Bakalov and his Austrian partner Rainer Aytsiger put the number 3, qualified for the semi-finals after success over the hosting Miguel Gallardo-Vayes and Tigre Hank with 7:5, 6:0.
