Former No. 1 Roger Federer defeated this leader in the world rankings by Rafael Nadal 2:1 sets - 6:3, 3:6, 6:1 for 1.40 hours and won the game for the fifth time the title of the ATP tournament featuring eight most better.
In this way, Federer is tied with legends such as Pete Sampras and Ivan Lendl, also won five times in the final Masters.
Federer controlled the whole first set, losing just three points in his service. He made the decisive break for 5:3, and then took the first part of 6:3.
In the second set, the Swiss tennis player serving well again, giving the opponent only five points. Four of them were in game four, which meant a breakthrough and a solid head start for Nadal than 3:1. Then the Spaniard led to 4:1, and finally took part with 6:3.
In the third set but Federer made Nadal defeat, as he made two breaks and after the final 6:1 triumph as winner.
For Federer it is the second major title of the year after winning the Australian Open in January. Then Nadal topped the world rankings and won successively the other three Grand Slam tournaments - Roland Garros, Wimbledon and U.S. Open.
