No. 4 Andy Murray (Britain) beat former No. 1 Roger Federer (Switzerland) 6:3, 6:2 and won the title of the tournaments the Masters in Shanghai with a prize fund 3.24 million dollars.
The meeting lasted only 85 minutes, and Murray broke to 4 and 6 aces.
Federer failed to take advantage of any of his six break opportunities in the match.
Murray starts with a breakthrough game, led by 2:0 and won the first set 6:3.
The second part of Britain was even more convincing, since the lead with 3:1 and won the match with a break in the final game.
This was the third final of the season and the 13th match between Murray and Federer. World No. 4 with a 8:5 lead, but Federer has a positive balance of 3:2 in the final.
The defeat prevented the Swiss to match the achievement of world No 1 Rafael Nadal (Spain) of 18 titles of Masters and record 64th victory of his career.
Despite the loss tomorrow Federer will return as No. 2 in world rankings.
For Murray, this is the sixth title of the Masters Tournament and 16th overall in his career. He received 616,500 dollars in prize money and ranking points in 1000, and Federer - 302 000 dollars and 600 points.
