![]() | Hasen on disqualification: The mistake was recognized, but I am still suspended - great for the image of Spanish football8-11-2026 |
Dean Hasen spoke out about his disqualification on social media. The Real Madrid defender received a red card in the 32nd minute of the match with Real Sociedad (2-1) as a result of disrupting an opponent`s counter-attack in the center of the field. The main referee of the meeting was Jesus Gil Manzano. The disciplinary committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) previously rejected Madrid`s first appeal.
In the re-appeal, Madrid cited a report from the referee`s technical committee (CTA), which said a yellow card would have been the appropriate punishment for the player. However, today it became known that the RFEF appeal committee upheld the decision to disqualify Heysen. The 20-year-old will therefore miss the game against Espanyol on September 20. The defense lawyer responded to the committee`s conclusion.
1. Gil Manzano unfairly sends off Hasen.
2. VAR does not intervene and allows this to happen.
3. Real Madrid plays shorthanded for 2/3 of the match.
4. The CTA admits the error.
5. After admitting the CTA error, Hasen is punished with another match.
The mistake is acknowledged, but I`m still suspended, great for the image of Spanish football
