 | Infantino said that in 5 years, soccer will become the main sport in the United States: MLS will be one of the best leagues in the world. The concept of promotion in class can be brought into America1-11-2026 |
Canni Infantino said that in 5 years football will become the number 1 sport in the United States. In 3-4 years, maximum 5 years, it will be top, top, top. [MLS] will definitely be one of the best leagues in the world. And I can tell you why — because now I`m on our site, ” the FIFA president said in a conversation with Fox Sports` Jordan Schultz on Fanatics Fes.
Infantino`s words came after Schultz asked him about Welsh side Wrexham`s success in recent years with three promotions in a row.
This is one of the beauties of promotion and relegation. In football, unlike any other sport, surprises happen and a small [club] can beat a big one, right? This very rarely happens in other sports; in 90% of cases the stronger one wins. In football this happens 70% of the time.
There are surprises, these stories are about teams. . . This can be brought into American culture, where there is no concept of promotion and relegation, something interesting needs to be explored, I think, ” Infantino noted.
