Loudon outlined Cadillac`s goals. Cadillac boss Graham Loudon positively assessed the team`s position given its performance at the Australian Grand Prix.
In the first race in the team`s history, Valtteri Bottas retired on the 15th lap due to a car breakdown, and Sergio Perez reached the finish line, but lost 3 laps to the race winner.
We need to work on improving the reliability of the car, that`s obvious. Although our team is far from the only one about whom this can be said. But we also need to work on improving the speed of the car. At the same time, in terms of racing pace, we are not so far behind several other teams at once. So our next goal - after the issue with the reliability of the car is resolved, and I am confident that this will be done - is to start fighting with rivals on the track.
Opponents are within reach. And it seems to me that in fact we could not have asked for more, given that the development of this car was carried out by Cadillac exclusively on computers that were not calibrated against the operation of a real car on a real track, and the wind tunnel was also not calibrated to work with a real car.
After all, last year the rules did not allow us to work with a real car on the track, acting independently. So, looking at the current situation, we can say that the team has significantly exceeded expectations regarding where Cadillac should now be, ” Loudon said.
Mercedes shocked F1-Hamilton even demands to check the engine. What`s so cool about it?
