Tampa head coach John Cooper spoke out after being eliminated in the 1st round of the playoffs. The 57-year-old Canadian specialist has been leading the team since 2013.
Tampa previously lost to Florida 1-4 in the Stanley Cup Series and ended its 2025 playoff run. The club was eliminated in the first round of the Stanley Cup for the third consecutive season. Tampa won the trophy in 2020 and 2021.
Scoring an important goal at the right moment, or at least getting a chance to do so - this did not happen for us.
When you move on, such moments work out in your favor. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out for us. But it`s definitely not for lack of trying.
