Rasmus Dahlin, Cale Makar and Zach Werenski are nominated for the Norris Trophy. The NHL has named the candidates for the Norris Trophy.
The prize is awarded to the league`s best defenseman at the end of the regular season.
The top three in the Hockey Writers Association voting were Rasmus Dahlin (Buffalo), Cale Makar (Colorado) and Zach Werenski (Columbus).
The winner of the vote will be announced later.
Dahlin, 26, scored 74 points (19 goals, 55 assists) in 77 regular-season games for Buffalo, with a plus-19 utility and 24-10 average ice time. He ranked sixth in the NHL in points among defensemen.
Makar is a two-time Norris Trophy winner (2021/22 and 2024/25). The 27-year-old finished third among NHL defensemen in points in the 2025-26 season with 79 points (20 goals, 59 assists) in 75 games with Colorado for a plus-32. utility plus 7 and average time on ice 26:36.
