Anna Blinkova shared her emotions from winning the WTA 250 tournament in Jiujiang. In the final she beat Lilly Tugger 6:3, 6:3.
I left home on September 8th. During this time, I played a bunch of tournaments [in Asia], where I often lost in the first or second round. But every day I gave my best in training and believed that I could achieve success, even at the last start of the season. And in the end I shot.
Honestly, I didn’t have much of a plan for the final. I had to play aggressively and confidently, dictate the rhythm of the game and take advantage of all the chances. I`m glad it worked out. This week I am very pleased with the level of my play - I showed excellent tennis and was psychologically stable. Yes, all the matches were in two sets, but there were difficult moments, long rallies. I’m glad to win and how I handled the pressure, ” Blinkova said after the match.
