World number one Rafael Nadal saved two machbola Victor Troizk before Serb wins a real thriller with a 7-6 (4), 4-6, 7-6 (7) and secure a place in Open final in Japan where he will face Gael Monfils.
For Nadal it would therefore be the eighth final of the year, and he won six of past seven. Victory over Troizk did for him was the fourth in four games against the Serb.
The first set, he made a full Grand Slam last month, winning the U.S. Open, there will be a tough rival for the title in the face of Monfils. The Frenchman beat Radek Stepanek in the other semifinal 6-3, 6-3, but not for a moment lost control of the match. Monfils has only one victory over Nadal in seven games, but the Frenchman has won only two tournaments in his career, while the Spaniard has all 42.
