Stuart Skinner spoke out about Edmonton`s loss to Florida in the NHL playoffs. The Oilers lost to the Panthers 1-6 in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final (1-2 in the series).
– Is it difficult to survive a crushing defeat?
– This is a series after all. They lead 2-1. That`s it. It`s just one game. They could have beaten us 12-0 and the result would have been the same. The series score would still be 2-1. It`s not true that defeat gives more victories.
Maybe it`s harder emotionally because we weren`t in the game today, but that doesn`t change how we`ll react.
It doesn`t matter who you`re playing against, if you don`t go out on the ice with full dedication, you`ll get punished. This is the NHL, this is a strong league. We know that. Today we felt it ourselves. And not for the first time. We know what we`re up against.
This will not affect our response. We have two days to reset and I think some things will have to change, ” Edmonton goalie Stuart Skinner said.
