Ashley Cole has become head coach of Serie B side Cesena. Cesena has announced the appointment of Ashley Cole as head coach. The contract runs until June 30, 2026, with an extension option.
In fifteen seasons with Arsenal and Chelsea, he won 14 national trophies, winning the Premier League three times and the FA Cup seven times. On the European stage, he won both major continental trophies, winning both the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League - both times in a Chelsea shirt.
After playing for Roma and Los Angeles Galaxy in 2019, Cole ended his playing career and immediately decided to take the coaching path, taking his first steps at the Chelsea academy.
He joined the England Under-21 coaching staff in 2021 and gained important experience as an assistant manager between 2022 and 2023, first under Frank Lampard at Everton and Chelsea and then under Wayne Rooney at Birmingham City. Cole later returned to the Football Association and then served as assistant coach with the England national team.
The entire Cesena family is delighted to welcome Ashley Cole to the helm of the first team and wishes him and his staff the best of luck, the club said in a statement.
Cesena currently ranks 8th in the Serie B standings with 40 points after 30 rounds.
