John McEnroe spoke about Lorenzo Musetti`s progress. It was the best match I`ve seen him perform. But then everything broke down. He was losing 5:6 in the second set, made a break, unexpectedly for everyone he could lead 2:0 in sets, and then simply disappeared.
That`s tennis. At one moment you are at the top, you feel invincible. He hit the forehand as powerfully as Alcaraz. The presentation was unreal. And suddenly it all disappears - from rich man to pauper in five minutes. This was partly due to emotions - he understood that he could not stand it any longer. Alcaraz was able to breathe out a little. This sucks.
But let`s give this guy some credit. He makes his way to the very top - to Alcaraz, Sinner, Djokovic. He is in the top 10, entered this select club. If the two leaders stop winning and Djokovic starts to feel his age, who will take the baton? Musetti is one of five or six such guys. I congratulate him.
