FIFA has given Barcelona permission to sell Vitor Roque to Palmeiras. Earlier it was reported that the Catalan club agreed on the transfer of the 19-year-old forward, who plays on loan for Betis.
According to Mundo Deportivo, FIFA has given Barcelona consent to transfer Roque. However, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and La Liga did not approve the deal, since the transfer market in Spain is already closed.
It is noted that, according to Article 5. 2 of the FIFA Regulations on the status and transfers of players, Roque’s transfer to Palmeiras is possible: for this, Barcelona needs to terminate the agreement on the striker’s loan to Betis before February 28, when the transfer window in Brazil closes.
An agreement between the clubs could be reached through monetary compensation or by giving Betis a larger share of the rights to one of the players, such as Abde Ezzazouli. If Roque`s transfer to Palmeiras takes place, Barcelona will receive 25 million euros for 80% of the rights to the player.
