Leclerc summed up the results of qualifying in Abu Dhabi. The Ferrari driver commented on the 5th place in qualifying for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
His teammate Lewis Hamilton crashed out after the first segment, finishing 16th.
I`m very happy with fifth place. It’s a pity that we have to settle for fifth position – but today it was our maximum.
I`m happy with today`s pace and the laps I did in Q3. I just hope we start next season in good shape and can win races again - that`s all I want.
Let`s just say that if we look only at this weekend, we managed to make significant improvements. We changed a lot in the car between the second and third practice. We took a lot of risks - but it all paid off. Without this we would probably have finished 9th.
Tomorrow I will definitely take risks to get on the podium in the last race of the season. That`s the only thing that matters to me.
There is a fight for the title, but I only care about what I can achieve with Ferrari. And we will try to show the highest possible result. It doesn’t matter who I have to fight with, ” Leclerc noted.
