Jaylen Duren lives up to his claim to a big contract this summer. 22-year-old Detroit center Jaylen Duren was selected 13th in the 2022 draft and is in his 4th season in the NBA.
According to sources in the Pistons, the club and the player were far from a compromise in discussing the extension of the basketball player, both parties did not expect a new contract to be concluded before the October 20 deadline.
Duren has shown incredible progress this season, averaging 20. 6 points, 11. 9 rebounds, 1. 1 steals and 1. 1 blocks in his first 13 games. Last year he had 11. 8 points, 10. 3 rebounds and 1. 1 blocked shots.
The center doesn`t shoot from distance and makes 67. 4% of two-point attempts and 77. 9% of free throws.
Around the league, Duren is considered one of the top contenders for the Best Improved Player (MIP) award.
Next summer, the basketball player will enter the restricted free agent market and can count on high interest in the league.
