Quarterback Trey Lance will continue his career in the NFL - according to ESPN, he has reached an agreement with the Los Angeles Chargers on a contract through the 2025 season. The deal could be worth up to $6. 2 million.
Lance was selected third overall by the San Francisco 49ers in the 2021 draft but barely played before suffering a broken ankle in the second game of the 2022 season. In 2023, he was traded to the Dallas Cowboys, where he spent the season as the third-string quarterback. He appeared in four games last season and started one game after Dak Prescott was injured.
The Chargers still have Justin Herbert and Taylor Heinicki on the roster, so Lance could be back in the third-string role in 2025.
