Luis Suarez took part in the rescue of a man who wanted to commit suicide. The Uruguayan striker Inter Miami, who came home on vacation, witnessed an emergency.
In the city of Ciudad de la Costa, a 49-year-old man climbed a six-meter tree and demanded to be allowed to see his partner. The man called the domestic violence department at night, reported his intentions, and then got rid of his mobile phone and climbed a tree that was difficult to reach. He had no food or water, but several packs of cigarettes.
El Observador writes that the man threatened to commit suicide. He tied a rope around his neck.
Luis Suarez, who learned about what had happened, approached and tried to dissuade the man. An emergency psychosocial assistance team, the prosecutor`s office, representatives of the Republican Guard and prefecture officers worked at the scene.
After 18 hours at the top of the tree, the man agreed to come down. He will now be sent for a psychiatric examination.
