The stewards dealt with the incident with Max Verstappen`s towel, which the Red Bull driver threw onto the track during the second practice before the Hungarian Grand Prix.
The team received a warning for releasing the car onto the track in an unsafe condition. The judges noted that the towel could have gotten tangled in the pedals and prevented Max from controlling the car. The FIA emphasized that the presence of a hard object in the cockpit would be a more serious violation.
The four-time Formula 1 champion explained that in the pits the towel was lying on his lap and then slipped to the side. When the pilot drove onto the track and realized that the towel was in the car, he moved to the right and tried to throw it as far as possible.
