Emma Raducanu shared her emotions from reaching the second round in Miami. In the opening match, the 2021 US Open champion beat Sayaka Ishii 6:2, 6:1.
Very happy that I was able to advance. This is not the easiest first round match - against a dangerous opponent who is younger than you and is now in good shape. So I`m very proud that I was able to fight back today. It wasn`t easy for me, but I think I played very well.
She also shared her expectations for the match against Emma Navarro.
It will be an incredibly difficult match. I think I just have to go out on the court, try, show my level and fight for every rally. She is a wonderful person, one of those people you greet and enjoy seeing, ” Raducanu said in an interview on the court.
