The former No. 4-ranked Magdalena Maleeva qualified for the quarterfinals of the state private tennis tournament for women with a prize fund 3000 euro. Sending a "wild card beat Maleeva in the second round seeded second Desiree Mladenova with 1:6, 7:6 (3), 6:4 in a dramatic match after just over two hours and a half game of TC Lokomotiv in Plovdiv. 35-year veteran returned to the court after a 5-year retirement from the sport to be included in the championship. 22-year Mladenova no problems in the first set, which gave only game of her opponent. Maleeva gradually found their game and pulled by 5:2 in the second half, but conceded alignment. In the tiebreaker, however, she took the initiative from the beginning and even the score. In the third set, Maleeva lead with 5:3 and missed two machbola own serve and at 40:15. In the next game, however, it again failed to break, thus ensuring the ultimate victory. Curiously, Magdalena Maleeva won a single title of Bulgaria opened in 1988 when she was born Mladenova. With the success Maleeva get a 150 euro prize money, and her next opponent will be eighth placed Borislava Botoucharova that earlier today removed Anna Veleva 6:3, 6:4.
