![]() | Las Palmas on the registration of Olmo and Victor: we express the absolute disagreement. A feeling of arbitrariness is created, threatening the admiration of the system of economic control28-03-2025 |
Las Palmas is dissatisfied with the permission to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor. The decision made yesterday by the Higher Sports Council was an unpleasant surprise for us. Las Palmas expresses its absolute disagreement.
We believe that this decision poses a serious threat to the integrity of the competition and creates an alarming precedent that can destabilize the foundations of professional football in our country.
It is especially amazing that this decision was made with extraordinary haste, without holding and without the participation of La League and RFEF, key sides in the management of Spanish football. This procedure ignores previous solutions of both CSD and courts, creating a sense of arbitrariness incompatible with the principles of transparency and justice that should underlie any similar process.
In addition, the statement of the lack of jurisdiction in this case does not seem to reflect an alarming misunderstanding of how the preliminary approval system and final licensing, which was previously agreed upon by relevant institutions. The resolution has never mentioned the application of RFEF provisions that prevent the issuance of licenses, which is the most important aspect of this case.
The harm caused by this resolution goes beyond the scope of a particular case associated with the players. Its consequences are jealous of the system of economic control of the LAGA - a tool recognized and highly appreciated in the law on sports for its important role in ensuring the financial stability of clubs. This system, which is admired all over the world, saved many historical clubs from bankruptcy, while retaining balanced competition on the field and beyond. Now, CSD measures directly contradict the principles laid down in this law, which creates uncertainty regarding future professional football in Spain.
Las Palmas calls to carefully analyze the consequences of these measures and believes that respect for the rules that ensure the integrity of our competition will be restored.
Las Palmas confirms its commitment to the protection of fair, sustainable and balanced football, based on clear rules agreed by all clubs, the statement said.
