The head of Marca commented on Jude Bellingham`s award. The Real Madrid midfielder received the Alfredo Di Stefano trophy, awarded to the best player of the season in La Liga.
In the 2023/24 season, Bellingham played 28 matches for Real in La Liga, scoring 19 goals and 6 assists. The Englishman became the third top scorer in the Spanish championship, behind only forwards Alexander Serlot and Artem Dovbik.
Bellingham did not attend the award ceremony, as did several other honorees.
Due to Real Madrid`s sudden allergy to awards, this makes less and less sense to me, ” said Marca CEO Juan Ignacio Gallardo.
Recall that the Real Madrid delegation boycotted the Ballon d`Or ceremony when the club realized that it was not a Madrid player who would receive the prize.
