The race was unsuccessful for me, but what is much more important is that we won the championship today. This is a huge credit to everyone at McLaren given what the team has been able to achieve this year. I`m very pleased with how we worked. It`s nice to finally get it done.
Was Max`s maneuver at the start overly optimistic? Probably yes. But he came up to me immediately after the race and apologized, and the stewards gave him a fine during the race.
Next year a new struggle awaits us. Yes, the race turned out to be difficult, but again, in the end we achieved our main goal - and this is the most important thing.
Can I win the title in 2025? Definitely. I hope next season we will be able to challenge any opponent from the very beginning. I still definitely have some work to do myself, but it seems to me that this year I have made a good step forward compared to my debut season. I’m looking forward to the next season, but first there will be a break - and then I’ll try to compete for the title in both the individual and team competitions, ” Piastri said.
