John Tortorella benched Travis Konecny for the game against Boston. Philadelphia lost to the Bruins (3:4 OT) in the NHL regular season.
The 27-year-old forward spent 4 shifts in the third period, the last one ending with a minor penalty for him for violating the rules against Charlie McAvoy.
While serving his penalty, Konecny went to the locker room on a signal from the concussion monitor.
After a quick test, the player was cleared to return to the game, but Tortorella never let him on the ice after that, including in overtime.
