Benjamin Netanyahu commented on the attacks on Israelis in Amsterdam. In the capital of the Netherlands, after the Europa League match between Ajax and Maccabi Tel Aviv (5:0), there were attacks on the club`s fans from Israel.
Today marks 86 years since Kristallnacht, when Jews on European soil were attacked simply for being Jews. Now it has happened again.
However, today there is one difference: the Jewish people have their own state, the Israeli Prime Minister said, adding that those behind these attacks pose a threat not only to Jews, but to the entire free world.
Kristallnacht was a pogrom against Jews (a series of coordinated attacks) throughout Nazi Germany, parts of Austria and the Sudetenland on November 9-10, 1938, carried out by NSDAP paramilitaries and civilians. The attacks left many streets covered in shrapnel from the windows of Jewish-owned shops, buildings and synagogues, giving the event its name.
