Lanny McDonald spoke about his work as head of the Hockey Hall of Fame. The Stanley Cup winner with Calgary took over the position in 2015. Next year he will hand over his responsibilities to Mike Gartner.
I think I have the coolest job in the world. If you love the game and its history, it`s great to be the chairman of the Hockey Hall of Fame.
With me, 56 people were included in the Hall. There are a lot of brilliant names on this list. It was a pleasure to do this.
Calling new Hall members is my absolute favorite moment. I felt like Santa Claus bringing a gift.
Some, of course, were sure that the call would come, but they were still surprised. Others were completely taken by surprise. Some of the guys who have been included in the last nine years have been waiting for this moment for many years, ” MacDonald said.
