Hütter on 3:1 with Strasbourg: Ben Segir`s play allowed Monaco to wake up in the second half11-11-2024 |
Adi Hütter assessed the victory over Strasbourg (3:1) in Ligue 1. – The first half was not very good, we should have played better, there can be no doubt about that. Today we achieved an important victory, which allows the team to gain three points after two unsuccessful rounds. I would also like to note that Strasbourg played really well today.
In the second half I was impressed, the team positively surprised me. Today, both teams featured many young and talented players on the field; it was a pleasure to watch this game. Nevertheless, I want to note that this is a completely deserved victory.
- What assessment can you give to the game of Ben-Segir (the author of the double – Sports”) in this match?
– During the break, I decided to move Ben-Segir to the center. Having played under Ilenikena, he received more space for creativity and did an excellent job. It is quite possible that it was his play that allowed the team to wake up in the second half.
- What did you say to your players during the break?
– They were a little discouraged and unhappy with how they spent the first half. I said we still have 45 minutes to turn the tide.
I also noted that I was not satisfied with the mood with which the team entered the first half, because it is necessary to respect the opponent. “I trust my players and I know that we are capable of playing better, and what the team showed after the break only confirms my words, ” said the Monaco coach.
