Antoine Griezmann has announced that he will not return to the French national team. In September, the 33-year-old player announced his retirement from the national team. The decision was made public ahead of Didier Deschamps` announcement of the team`s squad for the October training camp.
Journalist Romain Molina then suggested that the Atlético striker plans to return to the national team if things go wrong, in the style of Zinedine Zidane, who returned after leaving the national team just over a year and a half later and was appointed captain for the 2006 World Cup.
However, now the footballer himself has denied this version.
It`s over, I won`t come back. It was not an impulsive decision, ” Griezmann told Canal Plus after Atlético`s 2-1 victory over PSG in the Champions League.
