Novak Djokovic commented on the fact that his wife and children were with him at the final ATP tournament.
This is incredibly valuable to me. I am very grateful to my wife and children for coming. It`s not often that we get to share moments like this together on tour, so of course I try to enjoy it as much as possible.
I took both children, but especially my son, to training, warm-ups, matches. He was very loud, I was surprised. I heard his voice all the time (smiles). He really liked it all. They both now understand what is happening and what their dad is doing.
Of course, they make my life on tour easier. The pressure, expectations, tension that usually accompanies such big tournaments becomes a little less when I can spend free time with my family. This calms me down and gives me the opportunity to tune in and play my best tennis the next day.
The other day I was talking to my wife. It`s great to have them around. She said: It`s too hard. She has been with me for almost 20 years of my professional career, and she has to take care of the children, entertain them and support me at the same time.
I don’t know how many more tournaments I’ll be able to be with my family. I appreciate these moments. I hope that when they grow up, they will be even more aware of what special events we experience together.
