The FA will be able to punish clubs for fan abuse usually directed at Chelsea.
The Football Association of England has been given the opportunity to impose sanctions on clubs whose fans chant common homophobic chants about Chelsea players and those who support the team.
The organization sent members of the Premier League, Championship and other leagues, including women`s, a reminder that it has the right to resort to disciplinary measures in the event of such episodes.
These rules cover the behavior of supporters at both home and away matches, and clubs at all levels of English football have a responsibility to ensure that their spectators behave appropriately, the association said.
Chelsea Pride, Chelsea`s LGBT fans` group, said it welcomed the FA`s decision to take such action.
