32-year-old Pablo Carreno Busta returned to the tour after a 7-month break due to an elbow injury. In the first round of Roland Garros, he lost to Mariano Navone – 7:5, 1:6, 3:6, 0:6.
In October 2023, the Spaniard returned to competition after an eight-month break and played three matches at the Challengers, but then stopped competing again. He underwent surgery in November.
Carreno Busta is currently ranked 1049th. He entered Roland Garros with a protected rating.
For Navone, this is the first Grand Slam victory in his career. Now he will play with Tomas Machac.
