The NBA and the players` union have extended the window for negotiations on a new collective bargaining agreement.
The parties agreed to postpone the deadline for making a decision on withdrawal from the current agreement from December 15 to February 8. Thus, the NBA and the union must complete negotiations one day before the trade deadline.
If one of the parties exercises the exit option, the agreement will be valid until June 30. By this time, the current NBA season will end and the 2023 draft will take place.
