Ferrari test driver Robert Schwartzman hopes that his performances for the Italian team in Friday practice and in the youth tests in Abu Dhabi will increase his chances of being in a good racing series in 2023.
Schwartzman spent the 2022 season outside of racing and was focused on working on a Ferrari simulator.
I hope that participation in the tests and the results on them will give me something. I hope that with my performances I at least showed people in motorsport that I am still there, that I have not lost my skills. Working at Ferrari - even though it was mostly a simulator - still helped me grow up, helped me better prepare directly for racing performances.
After some time, when people start to forget you, you need to remind them of yourself. So yes, I`m happy with how the tests went, and Friday`s free practice. And although during the season I didn’t have many opportunities, in the end I got a chance to remind myself, - said Shvartsman.
