Sadio Mane will miss the World Cup due to injury.
The Bayern winger was injured in the match with Werder Bremen (6:1). At the 15th minute, the Senegalese sat on the lawn, holding his knee. It was soon replaced. Later, Bayern coach Dino Topmeller, Sadio had a slight pinched nerve due to a blow to his leg. Topmeller said the damage was minor and would not prevent Mane from playing in the 2022 World Cup.
However, according to L`Equipe, in fact, the player suffered a tendon injury. He will miss several weeks due to this injury.
The 2022 World Cup will be held in Qatar from November 20 to December 18. The Senegal national team will play in a group with the Netherlands, Qatar and Ecuador. The head coach of the African team, Aliou Cisse, will announce the squad for the tournament on Friday, November 11th.
