Allen Iverson said his rap songs were one of the reasons that caused tensions with former NBA commissioner David Stern.
The album Misunderstood was supposed to be Iverson`s debut, but received a mixed reaction from the public due to its sexist and homophobic content. As a result, the project was curtailed.
When I was doing this shit, I had a problem with David Stern. I remember walking into the office and he was reading my texts. David Stern literally read 40 Bars off a piece of paper and I tried not to laugh because I knew how serious it was.
He spoke all the crap I wrote. Hearing rap from David Stern was insane. I felt awkward. Bad idea that looked like shit. Many people tell you what you want to hear, not what you need to hear. And I faced it, - admitted Iverson.
