ESPN pundit Steven A Smith believes that Brooklyn did not appoint Ime Udoka as the new head coach because of the recent anti-myth scandal with Kyrie Irving.
Whatever we expect from Jacques Vaughn, we know that Ime Udoka can deliver. He already did it. In his first year at Boston, he achieved what Brad Stevens could not achieve in his eight years as head coach. He took them to the NBA Finals.
I understand that with all the drama that Brooklyn and Ime Udoka himself has gone through, this may cause too much noise. However, if I were the owners of the Nets, I would still hire Ime Udoka, because such coaches are rarely available. In terms of his coaching skills, he is someone around whom you can build a team.
