Former Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone has shared his opinion on the future of Mick Schumacher.
More and more reports began to appear in the press that Schumacher would lose his seat at Haas next year in favor of Nico Hulkenberg. And will remain without performances in Formula 1.
According to Ecclestone, the choice of Haas in favor of Hulkenberg - although he is 35 years old - is not surprising:
It`s not about age, it`s about mentality. Look at Juan Manuel Fangio - he started to compete in Formula 1 at an age when most racers were already ending their careers.
Ecclestone believes that if Schumacher loses his place in Haas, he should try his hand at another racing series:
People are disappointed with his performances. We don`t know whose fault it is more - himself or the team - but yes, it is very difficult to find a person who would decide to put Mick behind the wheel of a car that can win. Because now Mick does not have such a car.
Maybe Mick should forget about Formula 1 and focus on another racing series. His name is his biggest burden, but Mick is doing his best to deal with it. And all these troubles mainly arise against the background of his name. Just forget it and try yourself in another category.
Ecclestone also noted that Mick Schumacher could be harmed by excessive care and protection from the family and his father`s former manager Sabina Kem:
They always travel with him, communicate, support in difficult moments. I think he wants to always be around such a person. But sometimes it`s just not necessary, and some do a lot better. If you throw Max Verstappen into the sea, he will survive even if he cannot swim.
