Everton came in fourth in the Premier League standings after a tough 2-1 win away to Wolverhampton in the 18th round. With this success, the `caramels` equaled in points with Leicester and are only one behind the champion Liverpool. Alex Youobi gave a flying start to the guests in the sixth minute, but Ruben Neves equalized in the 14th. Michael Keane brought victory to Everton 13 minutes before the end.
The match started with a bang and both teams exchanged one goal in the first 1/4 hour. In the sixth minute James stretched very well with a pass to the far post, where Luca Dean with one touch returned to Youobi, who shot from 15 meters, sending the ball into the corner for 1:0. In the 14th minute the defense of the `caramels`failed to handle a corner in front of Jordan Pickford`s door. The ball reached Ait Nuri, who passed Dukure and centered perfectly almost from the outline. Ruben Neves technically intercepted from the air for 1:0.
A few minutes later the `wolves` could reach a complete turnaround, but Pickford saved a dangerous blow to Silva. Until the break, the clash became much more tactical and there were no more interesting situations.
In the 77th minute Everton came to victory. The Wolves seem to have managed a corner, but Andre Gomes kept the tension in the home side`s half and centered perfectly on the left. Michael Keane intercepted on the far post for 1:2.
Five minutes before the end, the `wolves` were unlucky after a blow from Neves hit the crossbar.
