Former head coach of the English football club Tottenham Mauricio Pochettino can take over the Italian Roma, reports `Ace`. According to the publication, if the 48-year-old Argentine specialist rejects the offer, the management of the Roman club will continue to cooperate with the current coach Paulo Fonseca. The Portuguese`s contract is until June 30, 2021.
He was the last to lead Tottenham - from May 2014 to November 2019. Under the leadership of the Argentine, the London club reached the final of the Champions League for the first time in history (in the 2018/2019 season), where they lost 0:2 to Liverpool. Pochettino also led the team to the final of the English League Cup 2014/2015, where his players lost to Chelsea with 0:2.
The Argentine was named coach of the month in England four times. In his career, Pochettino also led the English Southampton and the Spanish Espanyol. Roma finished fifth in the Serie A standings last season and were eliminated from the Europa League in the round of 16.
