The weakest team hit Chelsea in London

15-12-2019

Bournemouth achieved a surprising 1-0 victory over Chelsea. The only hit in the Stamford Bridge game was scored by Dan Gosling in the 84th minute.

Eddie Howie`s team had huge problems with injured players and was in a series of five consecutive losses before visiting London. However, the Cherries played an excellent game, especially in the second half, and took the three points and moved slightly away from the relegation zone.

Chelsea have recorded a fourth loss in their last five championship matches and his advance to fourth place is starting to melt away as the pursuers are getting closer.

Bournemouth began the meeting actively, but after the first minutes the hosts took the initiative. They had a huge advantage in possession of the ball, but it was very difficult to get into headshot situations. Blue`s goalie Tammy Abraham fired twice inaccurately. By the end of halftime, Bournemouth came to two situations outside Kepa`s door. First there was a stir, with the ball not reaching the net and eventually an ambush was awarded. In the next position, Chelsea`s goalkeeper reflected Gosling`s shot.

After the break, the pace was higher and dangerous situations came in front of both doors. The Londoners were looking for a goal, but the game was not going on. Lampard`s players tried, but ideas were lacking. At the same time, the attacks of the guests became more and more dangerous. In the 62nd minute, Josh King was on his own against Kepa, but Zuma`s brilliant last-minute intervention prevented a shot to the door. A little later, Eddie Howie`s team again got hit. King found himself with the ball in the penalty area, but he failed to point it precisely enough at Gosling.

Emerson was the closest goal to Chelsea players. He fired his head at close range after a mix-up in the opponent`s penalty box, but Ramsdale managed to break free. The volatile displays of blue defense continued and Bournemouth took advantage of it six minutes before the end. After a corner kick, the ball was returned to Gosling, who was with his back to the door but managed to pass Kepa. The hosts` defense had moved forward and was expecting to be ambushed, but after a long look at the situation with the VAR, it was evident that no such hit had been made and the hit was counted.
