A curious goal facilitated the task of Croatian Grand Hajduk (Split) in a home game with Slaven Belupo over the weekend. Second in the Croatian Championship standings Hajduk won with 2:0, with Jairo leading the hosts ahead with a score in the 14th minute. Quite an hour before the end, something rather curious and strange happened, which eventually led to the second goal of the meeting, the case of Josip Djuranovic.
In the 74th minute, a wrong pass from the hand of Hajduk guard Josip Posavec allowed a player of Slavic Belupo to pass him. The guard is tangled in the net, but not the ball that hits the beam. However, the players of Slaven Belupo mistakenly thought that they had scored a goal and some of them even started to hug in the center of the field, while guard Antonio Jesina left his door to join his celebrating teammates. The home team made the most of the resulting clutter and carried out a quick counterattack, with Djuranovic scoring on an empty-net goal.
So instead of Slaven Belupo to even the score, the guests got a second hit in their door, and Hajduk (Split) congratulated for the 8th victory of the season and is firmly behind the leader Dynamo (Zagreb), which is with a point more, but with less match.
