Today is a sad day for Roma fans. One of the symbols of the team, Daniele De Rossi, announced at an official press conference that he would end his 18-year career at the Roman club. The 36-year-old midfielder has admitted he has not received a proposal for a new contract from the club and said he is not considering stopping football. De Rossi was waiting for offers, and when he stopped, he revealed that he would give up the coaching profession.
I was informed yesterday that my contract will not be renewed. I`m 36 and not stupid. When no one is contacting you to discuss your contract, then everything is resolved. I have not talked to other teams. I still feel like a football player and I want to continue. I would be wrong if I stopped playing football. I don`t know if I`ll stay in Italy or play abroad, De Rossi began.
If I had a magic wand, I would put a few trophies in my window. I make this decision with a clear creature. It`s normal for me to make mistakes over the years. I had the opportunity to go to other teams that were rumored to win more than Roma. My love for the club will continue in another form.
