Lucaku led United, a missed penalty and a red card for the Red Devils4-12-2018 |
Manchester United played a strong game and managed a 2-0 win at a visit to Burnley. After two consecutive losses, the Red Devils responded appropriately and reduced the pressure in the club before the break for national team matches. Romeo Lukaka scored two goals in the first half and secured United`s solid lead on vacation. In the second part, Mourinho`s team continued to dominate, but the meeting ended after some negative moment for the guests. Paul Pogba missed a penalty in the 69th minute, and Marcus Rashford`s Marcus Rashford received a red card a little later.
Manchester United, who played pink, started very aggressively. Even before the first minute, Jessie Linggard was near the opening of the score. A little later, the English national again fired dangerously. The visitors made several good attacks, but there was no one to send the ball into the net. Joe Hart also dealt with Ligard`s next attempt, which could have surprised him uncomfortably after the ball departed to Luccau.
Shortly before the meeting, the anticipated blueprint in the sky over `Turf Mor` appeared, with which some of the fans expressed their position. He said:Ed Woodard, a specialist in failure.
The Red Devils had total superiority and quietly controlled what was happening on the pitch. With an excellent counter, Sanchez took Lukaku, but Joe Hart managed to make an excellent rescue. The Chilean was running a lot, but it was not very effective again. Pogba did not shine. This did not, however, prevent the team from reaching a second goal shortly before the break. Then Luke Shaw broke into the field, the ball was back to Linggard. He flipped, then fired in the defender`s body, the ball diverted to Lukaku, who pushed him into the net.
After the break, Burnley did not show signs of being able to return to the match. One of the rare situations before De Hea was Wood`s head, which did not hinder the goalkeeper. Mourinho took Alexis Sanchez out of play and left Marcus Rhapsford, who was at the center of the events in the next few minutes. The English national won a penalty, but Joe Hart saved the Pogba from the white point.
A little later, it was almost a melee between the two teams. Phil Bardsley struggled with Rashford`s break, the ball went out of the pitch, and Burnley`s defender then kicked him out. Rushford stood up and put his head to Bardsley`s. The referee`s decision was a yellow card for the defender and red for the Manchester United player.
Remaining 10 people, the red devils continued to create positions because the hosts tried to push, which opened space for the invaders of the guests. Hart managed to beat Lukaku, who was alone against him, and later the Belgian striker escaped from the defense of the opponent, overcame Burnley goalkeeper, but under the pressure of Mie failed to send the ball into the empty door.
By the end, Mourinho`s team had some good attacks, but seconds before the final signal, De Hea had to intervene after a Tarkovsky`s head. The Spanish goalkeeper was at the level and this meant the first match of the season, when United did not allow a goal.
