Southgate with a bold decision to pull out the most experienced player in England16-05-2018 |
England manager Gareth Southgate will have one of the surprises among the World Cup squad in Russia this summer, Sun reports today. He will not include veteran Joe Hart, who was believed to be on the list, though not amongst the title holders. Hart would have been the most experienced player with 75 matches and three big championships behind. The news is shocking for both the press and the watchman, who, in his words, can not believe he will remain outside the final 23 players. This is a real shock to Joe.
In his absence, the door is expected to stand by Jordan Pickford from Everton, and second goal keeper is Jack Butland from Stoke, third choice will probably be Nick Pope of Burnley. The news was reported by Southgate in a personal conversation with Hart on the phone. In his absence the most experienced among the English national is expected to be Gary Cahill, who has 58 matches with the national jersey.
