Toronto was left without a coach16-05-2018 |
Dwayne Casey was released from the coaching position of Toronto Raptors, ESPN reported, citing sources. The 61-year-old American has been at the top of the NBA`s only Canadian team for seven years since 2011, and two days ago he was chosen by his colleagues for No. 1 of the season, although his students crashed in the playoffs, dropping 0-4 from Cleveland.
The former Minnesota mentor left Canada with a positive balance in the regular season (320-238) and a negative in the playoffs (21-30). In the current season, the Raptors finished as 1 in the East with 59 wins and 23 losses, and Casey was selected as coach in the Star Game.
Casey has a college championship title as a Kentucky player, as well as an NBA, but as an assistant at the Dallas headquarters in 2011.
